Abstract: We investigated zebra mussel shell motion through controlled injections in a transparent pipeline at three flow velocities and developed a 1D advection-dispersion model. Experiments showed a predominantly near-bed motion, with limited saltation. The calibrated model reproduces observed dynamics and supports the identification of clogging-prone zones in irrigation networks.
