Abstract: Digital technology advances offer new opportunities for catchment management. Since 2021, China’s Ministry of Water Resources (MWR) has promoted digital twin catchment construction, requiring integrated flood management in different catchment scales and the implementation of the “Four Advances” system (forecast, early warning, rehearsal, plan). After years of practice, related concepts and technologies have been refined, with effective applications in catchment management. This study reviews these applications, presenting the concept and achievements of China’s digital twin catchment.
