Abstract: Urban areas face growing challenges in managing and controlling drainage systems, especially in the context of climate change and urbanization. The aim of the present work was to develop a rainfall-runoff model to understand the drainage system's response to known precipitation events, enabling the design of effective flow control solutions. A combined hydrological and hydraulic modelling approach is applied to support that the designed overflow structures will be properly located and activated during heavy precipitation events.
