Abstract: The aim of this investigation was to determine the complex effect of three square-bridge piers on turbulence structures and vortices behavior which is still a research gap in understanding the complex flow dynamics. Its novelty is to enhance understanding of how complex bridge piers contribute to the development of turbulence. The experiment has been conducted in smooth bed within a clear-water open channel flow by utilizing Acoustic Doppler Velocimeters (ADV), in order to determine variations in the flow’s turbulent structural dynamics along longitudinal, transverse, and vertical axes. Flow patterns after piers have been examined, where average velocities and Reynolds shear stresses (RSS) were studied along with bursting analysis.
