Abstract: Saltwater intrusion is a phenomenon influencing the hydrodynamics of rivers and marine environments in estuaries. The Tanintharyi River estuary in south Myanmar is the one of the productive regions in Southeast Asia, producing fisheries industries such as oysters. Modeling is essential for understanding hydrodynamics in this region, as field surveys are limited and costly to conduct over such an extensive study area. In this study, the numerical model Fantom Refined was employed to develop a long-term (1-year) simulation of saltwater intrusion in the estuary. The result showed that although the actual measurement and simulation have differences of 5 to 12 km in the saltwater intrusion length, the model reproduced the salinity distribution in a good agreement during the wet and dry seasons.
