Abstract: This study examines the distribution of microplastics (MPs) in the Ashtamudi estuary, India, focusing on their shape and size through longitudinal and vertical profiles. Microplastics were classified by morphology-fragments, fibers and beads-and size variations were assessed. Findings indicate that smaller MPs and fragments are dominant, with larger fragments on the surface. Seasonal changes like monsoon runoff may influence size distribution.
