Abstract: When a swarm of solid particles moves in a stagnant water, fluid motion isinduced and solid-liquid two-phaseflow occurs. We call such a flow "a discrete-phase-diving-type of multiphase flows",in distinction to anordinary type that a continuous phase moves a discrete phase such as a sediment transport. We consider thatflows related to natural disasters which occur on the mountainside slopes such as a debris flow, pyroclastic flowand avalanche belong to the former type. And the category also includes a bubble plume,a flow field inducedsoils falling through water which is dumped by a hopper-barge with bottom doors and so on.
