Abstract: In order to obtain analytical solutions of long wave transformation propagating in a curved open channel, the equations of motion and continuity are expressed in the cylindrical coordinate system and expanded in the series of a small parameter (ratio of half channel width to the radius of curvature). In the range where the analytical solution is exact, it explains the phenomena of long wave diffraction and reflection in the curved channel and these phenomena are remarkable for longer wave period or larger Froude number.
