Abstract: The mathematical modelling have become an important implementof solution of water management problems. That have not avoidedeven ecological sphere,in which often the other kind of modelsare inapplicable. The mathematical models of pollution mixing instreams can be effectively used for determination of transport, mixing and self-purifying characteristics of channels, optimumlocation of outlet structures in stream, delineation of mixingzones, prediction of spreading of accidental contaminant waves, etc. The ability to solve these problems may have a big influenceupon the improvement of water quality, and thus upon ecology.
