Abstract: In the past two decades,California State University,Los Angeles,incooperation with the Department of Civil Engineering and the office ofContinuing Education,has been offering extensive continuing educationprograms in hydraulic and coastal engineering to practicing engineers.Thepurpose of these offerings has been to present a comprehensive deacription ofhydraulic engineering problems to the practicing engineers and to acquaintthem with the latest developments in hydraulic and coastal engineering. It iBintended for practicing hydraulic engineers in the public and private sectors,planners and administrators from the City,County,and state agencies,andprivate consulting engineers,The program consists of 3-4 day short coursesand seminars.
