Abstract: A method of estimation of the instantaneous 3-dimensional flow structures (velocity vectors, vorticity vectors) of a turbulent flow from sparse and insufficient data is described. The method consists of two steps of the rough estimation of flow by inter- and extrapolation applying the "virtual load"method proposed by the first author and the adjustment of the rough estimation by the MASCON model proposed by Sasaki (1958) which means the mass consistent model. Results on the reliability test of the present method by numerical simulation are introduced. A practical application is given on the investigation of the coherent large eddy structure of turbulence in an oscillatory flow. However, it should be emphasized that the application of the present method is not limited to the turbulent research, but can be extented to a variety of flow phenomena.
