Abstract: currents measured in the near shore region of Lake Genevaare characterized, by low mean velocities, frequent current reversals, and spatial variabiiity. using these measured currents and measureddischarges in a numerical model, the spreading of the plume was simu-lated. Histograms of plume spreading over extended periods show agenerally offshore displacement but otherwise no preferred direction.
