Abstract: The paper reports on the interrelation between the change of flow conditions in U-shaped conduits and both the discharge capacity and near-cri-tical state of flow. As has been found, the use of the Froude criterion alone is not sufficient to simulate the pressure pulsations in case of partial-pressure flow conditions accompanied by air pocket formation.
