Abstract: Healthcare facilities (HCFs) need to be operative during disasters and evaluating their preparedness is key for risk management. The aim of this paper is to illustrate the main results from a systematic review of flood preparedness of HFCs worldwide. The review was conducted according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. The following themes were considered for the analysis: reported impacts and risk management strategies. The results from 74 publications are presented. The results of this review could be functional for re-thinking hospital flood preparedness in a more systematic and protocolled way.
