Abstract: This study focuses on designing drainage systems for varying flow rates, comparing two construction solutions: reinforced concrete and geocells filled with concrete. A drainage system was dimensioned to evaluate direct execution costs, time estimates, required resources, fuel consumption, machine operation hours, and active machine hours. Preliminary results suggest that geocells with concrete offer significant advantages regarding sustainability and carbon emissions reduction compared to traditional reinforced concrete.
