Abstract: 3D numerical simulations were performed to investigate the flow field in vertical slot fishways (VSF) at bed slopes of 5 and 10%. Results showed that the flow field generated in the low slope VSF were more compatible with fish swimming capabilities and the flow field exhibited a predominantly 2D behaviour.
