Abstract: Thermal responses of inland waters to climate change vary on global and regional scales. The extent of warming is determined by system-specific characteristics. Given the ongoing progress in climate model downscaling, we investigate the effect of real atmospheric trends and compare to the traditional air temperature prediction approach. Furthermore, we include the influence of intruding rivers and changed anthropogenic heat usage.
