Abstract: Refugee and internally displaced persons camps face annual flooding problems related to hydrological problems such as localised ponding of surface water and flooding events followed by periods of droughts. This research project comprises of four sets of pilot-scaled experiments using engineered wetlands and filter drains for simulation of surface water flows in and around refugee camps and the influence of these sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) can have on the overall flows and stormwater management.
